Yes, how was it?
How was what? How was Father's Day?
Oh, no big deal. We, as a family (4 + 1), drove to my in-laws at Ampang Jaya and did dinner. The day wasn't much about me and honestly, I didn't quite mind it. I was relating this to Shah and he quipped that it was not Father's Day for me then.
It was, FATHER-IN-LAW's DAY! Yes, I guess it was. Father-in-law's day.
Anyway, I had many many 'works of art' from my 2 genuises who were doing all sorts of cards from my ever dwindling bundle of A4 papers on the shelf. I received '6 cards' from them in total, and I must say, painful as it was to admit it, the cards looked totally 'brilliant'! These artistic endeavors announced to me very clearly that my kids have very little real talent in handicrafts or arts.
But heck, I love them the same. While cuddling them up to sleep that night, Li-ann offered that she'd NOT exchange me for Uncle Jerry, her best friend's dad. She's been spending lots of time with them so I guess that was a real compliment to me.
Wesley did something mind-boggling before he dozed-off after a long day. He looked me in the eyes, and with all his 5 year's old maturity and wisdom said, 'Papa, I feel so much love for you, thank you for being a kind father...' He then attempted to massage my neck with his tiny, ticklish fingers.
That's Father's Day for me, after celebrating Father-In-Law's Day.
