I have been interacting with a few person recently and it got me thinking again about our capacity for trustworthiness.

Imagine how much easier it is to work and play if you don't have to doubt people's honesty. You can say anything once and it is understood. Nobody have to second-guess what you say and what you will do later. You can have a business agreement without lawyers inserting 'suspicion-induced language and thoughts' into the document.

Sure, I know this is not quite possible, simply because human beings are self-serving animals. We are always looking out to preserve ourselves and protect our well-beings.

Still to me, trust is the OS for human communication. Without trust, there's no communication, only mis-communication. My late father used to tell me something that resonates in me till today.

He said, 'If a person can't be trusted, he ceased being a person'.

How true, father.

What is a man when he has no capacity to be trusted? What is his worth if the very bridge connecting him and the world, is deemed broken?
