We are going to Bangkok for our company trip this year. We missed out Redang due to the peak season booking issue (I guess we're all OK without beach holidays after 3 years of the same) so we are going to soak in the northern beauty this time, 'The City of Angels', Bangkok.

We want to go see this...

and this...

...and eat these!
We can't wait, 2 weeks...2 weeks...
Tell you something about Bangkok that binds me to a memory.
When I was a kid, my dad used to tell me stories about Bangkok. As a 6 years old migrant boy, my dad took a boat from China and landed in Bangkok, where he lived with his uncle, his father's brothers. They had a sawmill business there, that's what I was told. One story I'll always remember was, dad told me that as a kid, he was encouraged to make a living plying fruits on the Chao Praya river's floating market. He would rise early in the morning and paddle along the river market, hoping to sell his fruits.
He was, apparently, not so hot a salesman. One time he didn't sell any of his fruits and ended up with a basketful of oranges on his sampan.
That day, he had decided to eat all the oranges, all by himself.
That night, he treated his uncle's household to a trousersful of orange-flavored gas.
Yep, that's my dad.
