Many Rivers To Cross
by Chief Alchemist a.k.a Wiley Chin - April 30, 2008 Posted: 1:31:21 PM EDT

Many rivers to cross
But I can`t seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it`s only my will
That keeps me alive
I`ve been licked, washed up for years and,
I merely survive because of my pride.

And this loneliness won`t leave me alone
It`s such a drag to be on your own
My woman left and she did`nt say why
Well I guess, I gotta try.
Many rivers to cross but where to begin,
I`m playing for time
There`ll be times when I find myself thinking
Of committing some dreadful crime.

I`ve got many rivers to cross
But I can`t seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
The white cliffs of dover
Many rivers to cross and it`s only my will
That keeps me alive
I`ve been licked, washed up for years and,
I merely survive because of my pride.

Yoga for fitness
by Chief Alchemist a.k.a Wiley Chin - April 17, 2008 Posted: 4:00:17 PM EDT

I've been practising yoga for more than 2 months now.

It all started when I was looking a better way to stay healthy and keep my weight right. I stopped my 'one cup too many' coffees, and skipped heavy dinners.

I sleep way better now, which is really great!

But I needed a way to keep fit too. All along, I knew I needed a regime that is both fun and practical. Going to the gym doesn't do it for me.

Initially, it was a choice between Taichi and Yoga. I picked Yoga. I was thinking Taichi would be great in 5 years time.

So off I went to MPH and bought 'The Yoga Bible'. I pulled out my old yoga mat (came with the yoga ball I bought sometime ago for the kids) and went through some of the asanas. Wow, how my body hurt after the first session!

But it was also fun.

I must say I enjoy yoga a great deal now. Other than a weekly session within our office block, I have been stretching at home whenever possible, which is mostly at night.

My daughter told me that the other day, when she told her tuition teacher that her dad does yoga, they were gasps of disbeliefs.

Is yoga for women only? Is it unmasculine to practise yoga?

Well, I don't think so.

I find yoga perfect for toning and maintaining flexibility. I brisk walk for cardio workout. I find that my regime suits me fine.

Now, why didn't I pick-up yoga this earlier?  :-)
